Yesterday we held our annual Christmas Fayre at Woodleigh, and what a day it was. There was certainly a buzz about the place as staff and Residents were helping to get the stalls set up and filled with our wonderful prizes, refreshments and cakes! Alongside our dedicated volunteers we had a team ready to welcome our guests to join us for an afternoon of fun. As always we had our bottle tombola, and raffle, accompanied by some games for the children (and some of the adults too), with plenty of bric a brac on offer too.
Everybody came together and we are delighted to say that we were able to raise over £500 which will go into the ‘Friends of Woodleigh’ charity. This charity has supported Woodleigh Christian Care Home for such a long time, and they do a brilliant job of fund raising for us. All of the money raised for the ‘Friends of Woodleigh’ goes to paying for activities, days out and holidays for the residents.
We couldn’t hold our events and days out without the help of our volunteers. They really make a huge difference to the lives of the residents at Woodleigh. We are always looking for people to join us, and if you are interested in offering up a bit of your time to join us, we would love to hear form you!
