Caring for All Your Needs

Woodleigh is a happy and caring community that embraces people from all backgrounds. Our experienced and dedicated staff work hard to provide you and your family with a welcoming and supportive environment, where you feel recognised as an individual, with your own personality and wishes, and our care is always delivered with that in mind.

We will spend time with you, and your family, agreeing on exactly what care suits you best; addressing not just your physical requirements, but also your emotional and spiritual wellbeing. We will develop a care plan that is just for you and that can be adapted as your wishes or circumstances change. We are here to help you no matter what your needs and we hope that, should you decide to make your home with us, you will thoroughly enjoy being a member of the loving and welcoming Mansfield community of which we are very proud.

"It's a lovely place to live my Aunty would not want to live anywhere else. The staff are great nothing is too much trouble for them. I would highly recommend this home."

A Beautiful House and Home

Originally a fine Victorian house and convent, Woodleigh has been sympathetically added to and modernised over the years, so that today you will find not only a beautiful home with many of its fine original features intact, but one that also offers you some of the best nursing and residential facilities in the Mansfield area.

All of our fourty-one bedrooms are individually and tastefully decorated, and nearly all of them have en-suite facilities for your comfort and convenience. They are furnished to a very high standard – a lovely start to creating a room of your own. We encourage you to personalise your room by bringing your own special mementos, photos, or perhaps even a favourite chair or piece of furniture – we want you to feel that Woodleigh is truly your home.

Our four lounges and two dining rooms give you plenty of choice when it comes to socializing with friends and relatives, so there are plenty of spaces to have a cup of tea or a chat. One of our dining rooms has been lovingly converted from the home’s original chapel, whilst the style of another recalls a previous era through its many Victorian features. Sometimes people want quieter moments to themselves, perhaps to read or spend time with good memories, and we have a number of smaller seating areas that offer you more privacy. However you would like to spend your day, there will always be somewhere for you.

"The home is family friendly with visitors being made very welcome. I would have no reservations in recommending this home and would be pleased if I had to ultimately go in care for it to be this one."

Good Food and Sunshine

Mealtimes are an important part of everyone’s day and we strive to make sure you can enjoy a healthy and balanced diet. All our food is freshly prepared using good quality ingredients from local suppliers who have been highly recommended, and there is plenty of choice on the menus. Of course if there is something you particularly fancy, perhaps an old favourite, then please ask our cooks and they will be delighted to help you. We can also cater for special dietary needs, should you be diabetic, gluten intolerant or have specific food allergies.

If you are fond of the outdoors then you will enjoy our lovely garden. In warmer months it provides a beautiful place where you can sit out and enjoy the many flowers, and some of the pet birds that the home has. In summer we organise tea parties, BBQs and other events outside so that everyone can come together and enjoy the sunshine.

"They care very deeply about the residents and treat them with dignity and humanity, the people who run Woodleigh are the most wonderful people you could ever wish to meet"

Leading a Fulfilling Life

Needing help and support does not mean that you are unable to lead a rich and fulfilling life. At Woodleigh we work hard to ensure there is always something happening that you can enjoy watching or take part in, and we encourage you to come up with suggestions for new activities, events and trips out. There are regular outings, as well as many events in the home such as visiting entertainers, fashion shows, exercise sessions and reminiscing.

The home has its own weekly choir that has been a finalist in national competitions, and they regularly put on concerts for our residents. We also have a full time chaplain who will sit and chat with you and who arranges weekly prayer and bible studies, as well as services that you can attend. Our own charity ‘Friends of Woodleigh’ also organise events, support trips out, and buy presents at Christmas for all our residents. Whatever your personality and interests we feel sure there will always be something happening for you to enjoy and take part in if you would like to.
